CHARACTER MEANINGS

The Japanese word for THE GOD OF LONGEVITY is juroujin, written in kanji as 寿老人.

寿老人 (Juroujin) is one of the Seven Lucky Gods in Japanese mythology, associated with long life, prosperity, and happiness. This deity is often depicted as an elderly man with a long white beard, holding a staff and accompanied by a deer, symbolizing a peaceful and long life.

This God'a name is made up of three characters which each contribute to his name's overall meaning. The first character, "寿" (ju), represents longevity, suggesting a long life. The second character, "老" (rou), means old or elderly, adding the aspect of age and wisdom. The final character, "人" (jin), translates to person.
